The projects below reflect different ways I enter creative work—sometimes at the very beginning of an idea, sometimes mid-process when structure or support is needed to bring a vision into focus.

Coffee & Clarity

Project: Concept Development & Visual Staging

Supported a first-time director in developing clarity around staging, actor direction, and set design through structured conversation and visual concept mapping.

  • An early-career director (and former student) reached out while preparing their first independent production, feeling uncertain about how to translate ideas into concrete staging and design decisions.

    Our work began as a conversation focused on identifying the core of their vision. Through guided questioning and visual mapping, we began to clarify what the production needed emotionally and spatially. I sketched out conceptual approaches to help externalize ideas that had previously only existed in their imagination.

    As their confidence grew, their choices became more intentional across both performance direction and design.

    The final production was successful, with the set design functioning as an integrated storytelling element that shaped movement, tone, and focus throughout the piece.

Creative Blueprint

Project: Screenplay Development & Production Planning

Developed a comprehensive Creative Blueprint that transformed an early screenplay from a collection of ideas into a clear, actionable production plan.

  • A screenwriter reached out while deep in the development of a feature script. They had a vivid vision for the film and a strong understanding of the story's visual language, but they were struggling to imagine what producing the project would actually involve. Questions about logistics, budget, organization, and where to begin made the leap from script to production feel overwhelming.

    To help bridge that gap, I developed a comprehensive Creative Blueprint that translated creative ideas into practical planning. Drawing from the visual references they had already collected, I curated a lookbook and created a suite of working production documents, including a shot list, scene breakdown, props inventory, preliminary budget, potential filming locations, and a collaborative document for questions, observations, and creative possibilities.

    The result was more than a collection of planning tools. It became a roadmap that connected the screenplay to a realistic production process, helping the writer articulate their vision with greater confidence and understand the practical steps needed to move the project forward.

Creative Partnership

Project: One-Woman Show Development & Production Support

Supported a one-woman performance from early concept development through rehearsal planning, production design, and technical execution, including lighting design and live operation.

  • When I first met the client, she had a long-held idea for a one-woman show but needed a thought partner to help shape it into something actionable. Our early conversations focused on clarifying direction through questions and feedback.

    A few months later, she returned with a drafted script and a clear decision to move into production. She had secured a theatre space and now needed support translating vision into logistics—especially building a rehearsal schedule, something she described as outside her natural way of thinking.

    As the production developed, my role expanded into lighting and production design, along with technical support that included attending rehearsals and running lighting for performances.

    The project has since continued to evolve, with plans for touring development and ongoing collaboration.
